Football shirt size guide: find your perfect fit

Getting the size right is the easiest way to love a new football shirt from the very first day. All you need is a tape measure, two minutes and to know where to look. This guide shows you how.

Where to find the size table

Every product page has a SIZE GUIDE next to the sizes. It opens the table for that model: fan, player, women's or kids. Always check the table of the shirt you are looking at, even if you have bought from us before, because each version has its own cut.

The measurements that matter

Width

The shirt measured flat, from armpit to armpit. This is the number that decides how the shirt fits your chest, so give it the most weight.

Length

From the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, down to the hem. If you are tall or like to wear the shirt tucked in, look closely at this column.

Height and weight

They help you confirm. If your height points to one size and the width points to another, follow the width.

Our fan version table

This is the table of the fan version, the most popular cut in the store. Width and length are measured on the shirt, laid flat:

Size Your height (cm) Width (cm) Length (cm) Your weight (kg)
S 162 to 170 53 to 55 69 to 71 50 to 62
M 170 to 176 55 to 57 71 to 73 62 to 78
L 176 to 182 57 to 58 73 to 75 78 to 83
XL 182 to 190 58 to 60 75 to 78 83 to 90
2XL 190 to 195 60 to 62 78 to 81 90 to 97

Sizes 3XL (62 to 64 cm wide, 81 to 83 cm long) and 4XL (64 to 66 cm wide, 83 to 85 cm long) are made for selected models. When a shirt comes in these sizes, they appear among the size options on its page.

Between two sizes? It depends on how you like it

  • Everyday wear, with a little room: choose the larger size.
  • To play, or for a closer fit: choose the smaller size.
  • Player version: the cut is slimmer, so many people go one size up. Check its own table first.
  • Fan version: the cut is looser, so your usual size normally works.

Fan and player fit differently

In size S, the fan shirt measures 53 to 55 cm across and the player version 49 to 51 cm: around 4 cm narrower. The player table also stops at 2XL. If you are unsure which one suits you, read our fan vs player guide.

Women's and kids have their own tables

The women's cut has narrower shoulders and goes from S to XL, chosen by height. Kids kits are sized by age, but the table works with the child's height, from 92 cm (2 to 3 years) to 158 cm (12 to 13 years). See the women's fit guide and the kids size guide.

Customizing? Measure twice

A shirt with a name and number is made for you, so it is not exchanged because of the size or a change of mind. Before choosing With Customization, take your measurements and compare them with the table. If you are in doubt, message us before ordering.

The trick almost nobody uses

Take a shirt you already own that fits the way you like. Lay it flat on a table, measure it from armpit to armpit and then from the collar down to the hem. Compare those two numbers with the width and length columns: it is the most honest comparison you can make.

Common mistakes

  • Measuring over a jacket or a hoodie. Measure over a light T-shirt or directly on the skin.
  • Using the table of another model. Each version has its own, on the product page.
  • Going by the size of a cotton T-shirt. Cotton fits and shrinks differently, and our football shirts are 100% polyester.
  • Pulling the tape too tight. Two centimeters too tight on the tape become a tight shirt.

Still in doubt?

Send us your height, your weight and the model you want on WhatsApp (+351 938 640 265) or by e-mail at contato@garraesportes.com, from Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 to 18:00. It is also worth reading our exchange and return policy before you order.

With your size in hand, choose your shirt: the European clubs 26/27, the World Cup 2026 national teams or a classic from the retro collection.
