Women's football shirts: fit and sizing

For a long time, the only option was a men's shirt in a small size. Today the women's cut is a version of its own, designed for a different frame. Here is how it fits and how to choose your size.

What changes in the women's cut

  • Narrower shoulders: the seam sits where your shoulder ends, not halfway down the arm.
  • A slimmer body: in size S the women's shirt is 40 to 41 cm wide, against 53 to 55 cm in the fan version.
  • Shorter length: 61 to 63 cm in size S, so it ends at the hip instead of looking like a dress.

Choose your size by height

Our women's table goes from S to XL and starts with your height:

  • S: 150 to 160 cm
  • M: 160 to 165 cm
  • L: 165 to 170 cm
  • XL: 170 to 175 cm

Then confirm with the width in the SIZE GUIDE of the product page: lay a top that fits you well flat on a table and measure it from armpit to armpit. Some models also come in 2XL; when they do, it appears among the sizes on the product page.

Between two sizes

If you like the shirt close to the body, choose the smaller size. If you prefer some room, or you will wear a layer underneath, choose the larger one.

Women's or fan cut?

Many women prefer the fan cut for a looser, oversized look, and it looks great. A simple rule: if you want the shirt to follow your shape, choose the women's version; if you want a relaxed fit, choose the fan version and use the fan table to pick the size. Our size guide explains how.

Cropped: the shortest option

Some models also come in a Women's Cropped version, a shorter top that ends above the waist. It works well with high waisted jeans, skirts and shorts.

Where to find them

Women's versions are available for European clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern München, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, for Brazilian clubs like Flamengo and for national teams of the 2026 World Cup, like Brazil, Portugal and Spain. A few to start with: the Manchester City 26/27 women's home shirt, the Real Madrid 26/27 women's home shirt, the Brazil 2026 women's home shirt and the women's versions of the 2026 national team shirts.

Customization works the same way

Women's shirts can also have a name and a number on the back, with up to 15 letters and 2 digits. Remember that a customized shirt is not exchanged for a change of mind, so check the size first. Details in our customization guide.

Gift tip

Buying for someone else? Ask her height, which is easier to know than a shirt size, and use the table above. When in doubt between two sizes, the larger one is the safer choice for a gift.

Taking care of it is simple: see our washing guide. And if the whole family is going to the match, the kids size guide helps with the little ones.
