Long sleeves, windbreakers and training wear
Share
Autumn in Europe does not have to mean putting your shirt away until spring. Long sleeve shirts, windbreakers and training wear keep your team's colors on you when the temperature drops, from the stadium to the street.
Long sleeve shirts
Many of our shirts also come in a long sleeve version. You will find them for the new season, like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern München, Liverpool and Benfica 26/27, and for retro classics like AC Milan, France 1998 and Italy 2006.
Which size
The long sleeve version follows the table of its cut: fan or player. Open the SIZE GUIDE on the product page and compare the width with a shirt you own. If you plan to wear a thermal layer underneath, one size up gives you room without looking oversized.
Windbreakers
A windbreaker is the light jacket that blocks the wind and handles a light drizzle on the way to the match. It packs easily and goes over a shirt or a hoodie. Some models, like FC Porto, Benfica and Borussia Dortmund, come in a 2 in 1 version, and others, like Newcastle United, Everton and Flamengo, are reversible.
Which size
Jackets have their own measurements, with chest, length, shoulders and sleeve, listed on each product page. The easiest way to get it right is to lay a jacket you like flat and compare.
Training jackets and pre-match shirts
Training wear has become everyday wear. Training jackets, like the Sporting CP and Flamengo ones, and pre-match shirts, like those of Benfica, FC Porto, Manchester United and Arsenal 26/27, are the pieces you see on the team before kick-off, and they look just as good with jeans.
Puffer jacket and training pants sets
For the coldest days, the winter collection brings sets with a puffer jacket and training pants, with clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern München, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Atlético de Madrid, Olympique de Marseille and Borussia Dortmund.
How to layer for a cold match day
- Base: a thermal top or a long sleeve shirt.
- Middle: your team's shirt, short or long sleeve.
- Outer: a windbreaker for wind and drizzle, or a puffer when it is really cold.
- Extra: a scarf and gloves. Cold hands end the match early.
Long sleeve or windbreaker?
On a cool, dry day, a long sleeve shirt is enough. With wind or drizzle, the windbreaker goes on top. For a winter match at night, combine both, or go straight for a puffer set.
Kids in the cold
For children, a long sleeve top under the kids kit works well on cold mornings at the pitch. Choose the kit by height, as explained in our kids size guide.
Caring for jackets
Close the zips before washing, use cold water and a gentle cycle, and never put a windbreaker in the tumble dryer. Hang it to dry away from direct heat. The same rules that keep a shirt like new, explained in our washing guide, also work for jackets.
