Name and number on your shirt: the full guide

A name on the back is the detail that turns a great shirt into your shirt. It is simple to do, but there are limits and one decision that cannot be undone, so it is worth reading this before you add it to the cart.

How it works

On the product page, below the sizes, choose With Customization. Two fields appear: Name and Number. Type exactly what you want on the back and the customization is added to the price of the shirt. Your shirt is then prepared with the name and number already applied, ready to wear.

The name: up to 15 characters

The name field accepts up to 15 characters. Short names look best: the letters can be bigger and easier to read from far away. A long name needs smaller letters to fit across the shoulders.

Accents and special characters

Not every lettering style has accents or special characters. If an accent really matters to you, send us a message before ordering and we will tell you how it will look.

The number: up to 2 digits

The number field takes up to two digits, so any number up to 99. Three ideas that always work:

• Your idol's number: the 10, the 7 or the 9 of the player you follow.
• Your own number: the one you wear in your five-a-side or Sunday league team.
• A date: a birthday, the year of a title or a number that means something to the family.

A single digit leaves more space around it; two digits is the classic match day look.

Your name or a player's name?

A player's name is the most common choice, and it works. But your own name stands out more, because nobody else has the same shirt. For a gift, the name of the person receiving it almost always beats the player's.

Check everything before you pay

A customized shirt is made just for you, so it is not exchanged or refunded for a change of mind or because of the size. Before you pay:

• Check the spelling of the name, letter by letter.
• Check the number.
• Check your size in the SIZE GUIDE of the product.

A manufacturing defect or a mistake in the customization you asked for is covered by our exchange and return policy.

Add patches too

Name, number and patches go very well together. On many models, the product page also offers the patches available for that shirt, like the league badge or the Champions League. Our patches guide explains each one.

How to care for the print

Wash the shirt inside out, in cold water, without fabric softener or bleach. Never iron over the name, the number or the crest, and dry it in the shade. The full routine is in our washing guide.
